GTMS 3Oth Anniversary

The Society's 30th Anniversary Year

Thirty years ago a small group of history-lovers joined together to find new (and fun) ways to support Alexandria's historic gem, Gadsby's Tavern Museum. To begin our year of celebrating this milestone, GTMS held a birthday party for Members and Friends on May 1st. About one hundred people attended in Mr. Gadsby's Ballroom where George Washington danced and Thomas Jefferson held his inaugural dinner. Attendees enjoyed birthday cake and bubbles, a fun and fund-raising raffle, plus simply the concept of being out together again after Covid

While no gifts were expected at the anniversary party, many people chose to give to our $30 for 30 Campaign, which is being supported by the PayPal Giving Fund. Donations made through this platform do not carry any handling fees for the Society, meaning all that you give goes directly to our Endowment. You still have the opportunity to donate to the 30 for 30 campaign. Just click the picture below to go to the GTMS PayPal Giving Fund page. You do not need to have a PayPal account to donate.
